Why Give?

God is doing an incredible work at South Reno. One life at a time, people are encountering a new level of faith and passion in Jesus. This is made possible through the obedience and sacrifice of each person who calls South Reno UMC home.

The Bible tells us that we are to bring our Tithe (The first 10% of our income) into the storehouse (the local church), so the house is resourced and blessing is poured out from Heaven for us. (Matthew 23:23; 2 Corinthians 9:6-15; Malachi 3:6-12)

We are all called to resource the work of God, help those in need, give alms to the poor and advance the gospel. Generosity beyond 10% is an Offering. (Matthew 6; 2 Corinthians 9:6-15; Proverbs 3:5&9)
